Smoothie Variations And Recipe Notes

While I personally love the recipe as it is, you can definitely experiment with swapping a few ingredients, or even adding a few additional ones.

Below are some variations I have personally tried that you could also try, or experiment with on your own will:

  1. No Banana: A no-banana version of this avocado smoothie bowl was the most popular request from my community on TikTok. Swap the banana for either frozen mango, pineapple, or even berries.
  2. Boost With Protein: If you are not vegan or avoiding dairy, use 1/2 cup of yogurt or a scoop of protein powder to add more protein easily.
  3. Boost With Superfoods: Add a tablespoon of chia seeds, matcha powder, detox powders, or anything you have at home to spice it up!
  4. Make The Smoothie Sweeter: This smoothie bowl is only sweetened by the fruit. But, if you like your smoothies sweeter, you can add a tablespoon of agave, maple, or honey.
  5. Swap The Base: You can use coconut water, coconut milk, or any other dairy-free milk instead of almond milk.

My Tips For Making The Perfect Avocado Smoothie Bowl

  1. Use Frozen Fruit: Planning ahead and freezing your fruit ahead of time is crucial. Alternatively, you can pre-buy frozen fruit.
  2. Use a High-Speed Blender: To make this smoothie bowl, you will need a high-speed blender, preferably one with a pushdown stick. This way you can make an ultra creamy smoothie without the need to add a lot of liquid.
  3. Chill The Serving Bowl: I like to freeze my serving bowl for 5-10 minutes while I am preparing the smoothie. It helps keep the smoothie cooler for longer once it’s served.
  4. Enhance With Toppings: Add toppings that complement the smoothie bowl. I love adding seeds, nuts, even granola, etc.
  5. Eat ASAP: As soon as the smoothie bowl is served, eat it immediately, as it will start to thaw. It’s like ice cream!

The Equipment I Used

I own 8 different blenders and models, but I have only ever made this recipe using 3 types of blenders:

  • AmzChef Blender
  • Vitamix Explorian
  • Nutribullet 900 Series

The smoothie came out perfect with all these 3 blenders.

The key is to use a high-powered blender. Blenders like Oster or Blendjet won’t work with this recipe.
