  • Control Over Ingredients: When you make this smoothie at home, you have complete control over what goes into it. You can choose high-quality, fresh ingredients and avoid added sugars.
  • Customizable to Your Taste: You can adjust the sweetness, and thickness, and even add extra ingredients like protein powder or chia seeds to match your nutritional needs.
  • Cost-Effective: Making your own beach bum smoothie at home is much cheaper than buying one from TSC. You can buy ingredients in bulk and make multiple servings for a fraction of the price.
  • Healthier Choices: By making your own smoothie, you can ensure it’s as healthy as possible. You can opt for organic fruits for example.
  • No Hidden Calories: Tropical smoothie Cafe’s sometimes can have hidden calories from added sugars, syrups, and other ingredients. When you make your own, you know exactly what’s in your smoothie and can keep track of your calorie intake more accurately.
  • Fun and Rewarding: There’s something satisfying about creating your own delicious smoothie from scratch. It can be a fun activity to do alone or with family and friends, and you get the reward of enjoying a drink you made yourself.
  • Convenience: You can make this smoothie at home anytime you want without needing to leave the house. It’s perfect for busy mornings or as a quick snack whenever you need it.
  • Experimentation: Making your own smoothies allows you to experiment with different flavors and ingredients.

Copycat Smoothie Recipe Notes

If you follow these tips, you can ensure that your smoothie comes out perfect every time!

  1. Use Frozen Fruit: You must use frozen fruit. Otherwise, you won’t achieve that thick refreshing taste and consistency.
  2. White Chocolate Is Key: Don’t skip the white chocolate! White chocolate brings this copycat recipe so close to the original recipe of Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
  3. Avoid Adding Too Much Liquid: Use the amount of liquid provided in the ingredient list. Adding too much will make the smoothie thinner, which isn’t the right beach bum smoothie consistency.
  4. You Can Swap The Almond Milk: If you find coconut water, I suggest that you use it. It helps make the smoothie taste more refreshing,

How To Melt The White Chocolate For The Smoothie:

If you have never melted chocolate before, here’s how to melt the white chocolate for the recipe:

  1. The Microwave Method: Add the chocolate to a microwave-safe dish (I like to use a ceramic tea cup) and place it in the microwave for 1 minute, stopping every 15 seconds and stirring.
  2. The Hob Method: Using a small saucepan, add enough water to only cover 1/3 of the pan. Bring to a gentle boil. Add a bowl that can sit on top of the saucepan, and add the chocolate. Stir with a wooden spoon until melted.

My top tip for melting cheap white chocolate: If you are using cheap white chocolate, make sure you add 1/4 teaspoon of coconut oil. It allows for the chocolate to melt without burning, and gives a it shine!
