Smoothie Variations And Recipe Notes
You can swap ingredients and even add additional ingredients should you want to!
You can experiment on your own or try some of my suggestions below:
- Almond Extract: I once added 1-2 drops of almond extract to my smoothie and it somehow made it taste even closer to a real blueberry muffin. Try it!
- Add Some Walnuts: Many blueberry muffin recipes contain walnuts. To add this element, swap the peanut butter for a handful of walnuts. Make sure you blend thoroughly.
- Make It Even Healthier: Fold in a handful of spinach and a tablespoon of chia seeds without impacting the flavor!
- Extra Protein: Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder for more protein per serving.
- Make It Vegan: Swap the Greek yogurt for coconut yogurt.

My Top Tips For Making The Perfect Blueberry Muffin Smoothie
- Blend Long Enough: You want an ultra-creamy consistency for the most enjoyable drinking experience. Blend for a minimum of 3-4 minutes.
- Use Frozen Blueberries: I have tried making this smoothie with fresh blueberries, and trust me, it’s no as tasty as with frozen blueberries.
- Add Soft Ingredients First: If using a regular blender where the blades are at the bottom, add soft ingredients first (yogurt, peanut butter, etc).
