Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes

There are some ingredients you can substitute in this recipe, should you want to.

On top of that, you can also add extra ingredients for an even more nourishing smoothie.

Here are some ideas:

  • No Banana: Instead of bananas, you can use mango or papaya. Alternatively, use another type of berry of choice.
  • The Nut Butter: If you don’t have almond butter, use peanut butter instead, or cashew butter.
  • The Protein Powder: You can use any protein powder of choice, it doesn’t need to be vegan if you are not vegan. I personally love using brown rice protein powder.
  • The Green: Instead of spinach, use other leafy greens of your choice, such as kale. I also tested watercress, but the smoothie came out slightly bitter.
  • Boost The Metabolism Even More: Make the smoothie extra energizing and boost the metabolism further, by adding 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder.

Even though the smoothie contains frozen blueberries, everything else is easy to blend.

This is why all my blenders and models worked with this recipe, including the lower-powered blenders.
