Why You Will Love This Strawberry Coconut Milk Smoothie

Strawberry Coconut Milk Smoothie surrounded by strawberries a whole coconut and greens

This berry coconut milk smoothie not only looks or tastes good, but it’s also so good for you, in many ways.

From curbing cravings to boosting energy, this smoothie has a lot to offer.

Here’s an overview:

  1. Deliciously Creamy: The combination of coconut milk and yogurt creates a luxuriously creamy texture that’s both indulgent and satisfying, making every sip a treat.
  2. Perfectly Sweet and Tart: The natural sweetness of strawberries balanced with the subtle tartness offers a refreshing and delightful taste that’s hard to resist.
  3. Easily Customizable: Whether you prefer oats for a heartier texture or chia seeds for added nutrition, this smoothie can be tailored to your taste preferences and nutritional needs.
  4. Quick and Convenient: With minimal ingredients and preparation time, this smoothie is perfect for busy mornings or as a quick post-workout refreshment.
  5. Versatile for Any Diet: Being dairy-free and easily adaptable for vegan preferences (by ensuring the yogurt used is plant-based), this smoothie suits a wide range of dietary needs.
  6. Summery Vibe: The tropical hint from coconut milk combined with the burst of berry flavor makes it feel like summer in a glass.
  7. Satisfyingly Filling: Thanks to the fiber from strawberries and chia seeds, along with the protein from the powder and yogurt, this smoothie keeps you full and energized, reducing the urge for snacking.

Coconut milk makes smoothies so creamy, but it does add a lot of calories to them.

So be mindful of that.

Tasty Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes

There are numerous ways to make this smoothie.

You can easily customize it to suit your taste, dietary needs, and even the ingredients you have available to you at home.

Some tasty variations I have tested and loved, include:

  1. Lower Fat Version: To make the smoothie lower in fat, use coconut milk from a carton rather than from a can.
  2. Chocolate Flavored: Add a tablespoon of cocoa powder or a scoop of chocolate-flavored protein powder.
  3. Make It Vegan: Use 1/2 cup of silken tofu or a vegan yogurt alternative, I tested coconut yogurt, and it’s yummy!
  4. Nutty Taste: Add a nutty flavor that cuts through the coconut flavor, by incorporating a tablespoon of nut butter, like peanut butter.

Recipe Equipment:

Nutribullet

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender x
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender

Only Oster 6640 Blender was not compatible with this recipe. It struggled to blend without being shaken or without adding too much liquid.

This smoothie is very thick. Adding more liquid will work with Oster, but the smoothie will not be as thick as mine.

I personally preferred using the Nutribullet 600 for this recipe. It’s powerful and is ideal for a single-serving smoothie.

Recipe FAQs:

Can I Use Fresh Strawberries Instead Of Frozen?

Yes you can, but the smoothie won't come out as thick. Which is why I recommend that you use frozen berries if you can.

Can I Make This Coconut Milk Strawberry Smoothie Keto?

Yes, you can! You will need to reduce the berries to 1/2 cup instead of 1 cup, and ensure that you use keto-friendly protein powder. You will also need to use chia seeds instead of oats.

Can I Use Coconut Water Instead Of Coconut Milk?

Absolutely. Coconut water will make the smoothie lower in fat, and a lot more refreshing.
