What Is In The Bag

Inside the bag, you find 6 individual bags of 8oz frozen vegetables and fruit for making smoothies. Each of these bags has a single serving, making one smoothie, so you have 6 smoothies worth of contents.
Inside the bags you will find:
- Frozen blueberries.
- Frozen raspberries.
- Frozen strawberries.
- Frozen Spinach.
- Frozen Kale.
- Frozen Bananas.
Each bag will contain around a single cup worth of frozen fruit, you will find frozen green chunks which are spinach and kale. We felt that the packs always contained more blueberries and strawberries than raspberries and bananas.
The Instructions
To save you trouble, each bag will have instructions on how to make the smoothies from these packs. We have put the instructions below for you.
- Combine all of the contents of a single Clovis Farms super smoothie blend pouch with 1 1/2 cups of water as well as your favorite choice of juice, or milk in a blender. Apple juice is the recommended juice of choice.
- Blend the ingredients on your highest blend for a minute, or until you get the desired texture.
- Pour the blended mixture into a tall glass, add your garnish of choice, and enjoy your smoothie.
The Nutritional Value
A single serving size of your smoothie pack will add up to 100 calories overall. To make the smoothie, you will also need to add 1 1/2 cups of milk, water, or juice. Therefore the total calorie count depends on the liquid you use.
We recommend water. Juice can be tasty, however, juice contains a lot of sugar, which may not shoot the calories up, but will make the smoothie much less healthy. Milk can add more calories and sugar depending on the type you use. If you do want to use a milk type for the smoothie, we recommend oat milk or coconut milk.
Take a look at the nutritional information on the pack.
How To Make Costco Smoothie Packs
We tried making these packs a few times in different ways to give them a taste test.
The first time we made it, we decided to try it with unsweetened oat milk. It is super easy, so we can see why people who are super busy may use this. We simply plopped a single frozen smoothie pack and 1 1/2 cups of almond milk into our handy Vitamix blender.
We gave it a good blending on low for half a minute. It mixed super easily and was blended perfectly well, there is little need for a minute of blending unless you have a much less powerful blender.
After we tasted it with the oat milk, and while we love oat milk the taste was not amazing. As the bag recommends using apple juice instead, so, next we decided to give this a try.
This time we used 1 1/2 cups of apple juice, but, this did not exactly have up jumping for joy either.
How Do They Taste?

We wanted to like these, not because they would be good for you, with so much fruit, there is already a lot of sugar there, but because they would make a great alternative for people who love smoothies but are too busy to spend ages prepping smoothies in the morning.
However, we just were not really psyched about the taste. When we tried oat milk, we didn’t finish it, it didn’t taste bad but it was not very sweet and was kind of underwhelming. The spinach and kale had a lot of taste and the fruit did not balance it out.
It tasted like a green smoothie without having all the benefits of a green smoothie, which felt deceptive. What fruit we could taste was all blueberry, and as much as we love blueberries it was a bit too tart for our tastebuds.
If you know anything about us, you know we make smoothies all the time, we are also not passionate about adding juice due to how sugar-heavy it is. This is why we don’t think it was the oat milk that made it taste bad, instead the fruit and vegetable combination is just lacking, and since it is frozen, that does not help with the overall flavor.
We tried apple juice, it did taste a bit better, sweetening it up of course, and masking the potency of the kale and spinach. However, it tasted so much like apple juice, it may as well have been apple with the essence of a smoothie. Apple juice also made it too sweet.
The smoothies also had too many seeds, which is an issue with so many berries being in a smoothie. Frozen too little taste and so berry heavy, you’re drinking seeds.
