Green Smoothie For Diabetics Recipe Variations (Optional)
I have tested numerous different versions of this green smoothie for diabetics.
This means you can use different ingredients and still achieve a smoothie that is suitable for diabetics.
These variations of this smoothie are absolutely optional, but whenever you fancy something different, consider making these changes:
- The spinach can be substituted for beet greens or other greens such as kale.
- The avocado can be substituted for high protein low fat cottage cheese. The quantity should be 1/2 cup.
- To add more protein, you can also consider adding collagen powder, or a scoop of casein protein powder.
- If you don’t have fresh ginger root, you can use 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger powder instead.
- You can swap the green apple for any other apple you have, but just note that other varieties might be sweeter, so the sugar content could increase.
- For a thicker and more refreshing-tasting smoothie, add 1/4 cup of ice cubes to the recipe.
- For a sweeter smoothie, without adding calories, consider adding keto syrup.
