Chocolate pear smoothie can be made vegan, and it’s naturally sweetened as well.
As you already know, pear and chocolate work great together. But in a smoothie? Well we think it works fantastically well too!
We bought a bag of pears the other day and poached some of them, but were left with 2 spare ones.
We thought it would be great if we made some sort of a smoothie. Then we remembered that we ate this delicious dessert made out of pears and chocolate a couple of months ago, so we thought to create a chocolate and pear smoothie.
The result was great! The pears were quite ripe, so the smoothie ended up being sweet enough, and no additional sweetness was needed.
How To Make Chocolate And Pear Smoothie:
You will need:
1. Ripe Soft Pears
2. Good Quality Cocoa Powder
3. Milk of choice, we used dairy-free
The method is super simple! Wash, trim and core the pears. Leave the skin on, since most of the fiber content is in the skin!
Add all the ingredients to a blender, and blitz until smooth.
Serve and enjoy.
You can use frozen pear if you have it in hand, however, you will need to add more liquid, otherwise, it may be too thick.

- 1 2/3 cups/7oz/200g of pears
- 1 tbsp of good quality cocoa powder
- 1 cup/220ml of milk we used dairy-free milk
Instructions
- Wash, trim and core the pears. Leave the skin on, since most of the fiber content is in the skin!
- Add all the ingredients to a blender, and blitz until smooth.
