How To Thicken a Smoothie Without Ice
As mentioned above, ice not only cools your smoothies, but it helps them thicken.
However, there are ways to thicken your smoothie without the need for ice.
Use the following ingredients:
- Chia Seeds
- Oats
- Avocado
- Silken Tofu
- Protein Powder
- Frozen Fruit
These are some of the best ingredients to use to thicken a smoothie without the need for ice.
However, another method to achieve thicker smoothies is by cutting down on the amount of liquid you use to make your smoothies. This will result naturally in thicker smoothies.

Orange Banana Strawberry Smoothie
Equipment
- 1 Blender We used this one
Ingredients
- 1/2 orange peeled and seeds removed
- 1/2 cup/75g frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup/75g frozen bananas
- 1 cup/250ml coconut water
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blitz until smooth.
- Serve and enjoy!
