Revitalize your gut health and boost immunity with this kiwi and kefir smoothie. Packed with probiotics and vitamins for a nourishing drink.

Units Scale
  • 1 large kiwi
  • 1 cup plain unsweetened kefir
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 large handful of spinach (washed)
  • 1 tsp of minced ginger root
  • Water for blending


  1. Leave the skin on of the kiwi if you don’t mind it, I always leave it on because of the nutrients. Slice the kiwi in quarters.
  2. Measure the rest of your ingredients. Set them aside.
  3. Wash your blender. Yes, it’s in your sink!
  4. Add the kiwi and spinach first to your blender, followed by the rest of your prepared ingredients.
  5. Start by adding 1-2 tbsp of water. Blend for 2-3 minutes. Add more water during the blending process if needed.
  6. Taste for sweetness, thickness, etc. To make the smoothie thinner, add a bit more water.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

I have been making this kefir smoothie with kiwi for a couple of months now.

This has allowed me to test out different variations of the smoothie each time I make it.

Some tasty variations you could try include:

  1. Boost the protein content further: Add 1 scoop of unflavored and unsweetened protein powder.
  2. Add some super greens: You can add a tablespoon of spirulina powder, matcha powder, or a detox green powder.
  3. Make the smoothie vegan: Substitute the honey in the recipe with agave or maple syrup. 
  4. Add more nutrients: A tablespoon of chia seeds, flaxseeds or oats can provide the smoothie with more fiber, protein, and other nutrients.
