Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes
There are numerous different variations of this smoothie that I tried, and I cannot wait to share them with you!
If you like to change things up and add twists to recipes, here are some tried and tested customizations you can make to this passionfruit smoothie:
- Extra Orange Flavor: Instead of coconut water, you can use orange juice. But, do note that this will add a lot more sugar to the smoothie.
- Swap The Fruits: You can swap the mango for pineapple, or a completely different fruit, such as berries, papaya, or even banana.
- Add Protein: If you are not vegan or dairy-free, add 1/2 cup of unsweetened yogurt for a creamier texture and higher protein smoothie.
- Green Twist: Incorporate a handful of greens such as kale or kale. This addition won’t impact the flavor.
- Nutrient Boost: Add a tablespoon of chia seeds extra protein, fiber, and plant-based omega-3s.

2 blenders out of 8 I tested didn’t work with this recipe.
But, if you adjust the recipe, they can work. You will need to use 1 cup instead of 1/2 cup of coconut water as the recipe states.
Less powerful blenders struggle to make thick smoothies, and they require more liquid.
