Actually yes, they do. It may sound like a weird combination, but they work very well together.
Bananas provide potassium, whilst oranges provide Vitamin C, so a great mix of nutrients. Furthermore, bananas provide thickness, so if you are using them both in a smoothie, they complement each other very well.
Can You Put An Orange In a Smoothie?
Yes, you can definitely put an orange in your smoothies. There 2 ways you can put oranges in your smoothies
1. The Juice
2. The Pulp
Either way, it’s a great way to boost the nutrition of your smoothies and add a citrus flavor to them.
A lot of people seem to think that oranges just mean orange juice, but you can certainly also use the pulp of the oranges, in fact eating the pulp will provide you with much more nutrients, than just the juice.
How To Make a Smoothie With Orange Juice And Banana
You will need:
- Banana
- Orange
- Strawberries
- Coconut Water
- Chia Seeds
This smoothie comes out thick and so delicious. You can add a lot more other ingredients if you like, even protein powders. However, we wanted to keep things simple.
To make this smoothie – add all the ingredients to a blender, and blitz!

- 1 Blender We used this one
Ingredients
- 1/2 orange peeled and seeds removed
- 1/2 cup/75g frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup/75g frozen bananas
- 1 cup/250ml coconut water
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blitz until smooth.
- Serve and enjoy!
