Variations & Ingredient Swaps

Peach Blueberry Smoothie being poured into a tall thin glass cup from a blender jug

In case you don’t have some of the ingredients mentioned, or simply want to change the smoothie slightly,  here are some options:

  • No Blueberries? Use any frozen berry you like, doesn’t have to be blueberries.
  • No Banana: Swap the banana for other fruit. I have tried both mango and pineapple, and both worked wonderfully.
  • No Oats: If you don’t like oats or can’t digest them well, use sunflower seeds or flaxseeds.
  • Base Substitute: Instead of almond milk, you can use any type of milk you like or have.
  • Boost With Protein: Add a scoop of protein powder for a protein-powered smoothie!

Recipe Equipment:

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh x
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender x
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender

I have made this smoothie with both high-speed blenders and lower speed blenders.

I recommend using a high-speed blender if possible. However, lower-speed blenders such as the Nutribullet work just fine too.
