Optional Recipe Variations

My smoothie community on TikTok has been begging me to make a no-banana persimmon smoothie.

I recently shared a banana persimmon breakfast smoothie, which was a hit, but a lot of my followers do not like bananas.

Which is why I decided to make a no-banana persimmon smoothie.

On top of testing out a persimmon smoothie without bananas, I tested other variations.

If you fancy something different than the original recipe I shared, you can try some of the variations of this smoothie I tested:

  1. Oat Or Chia Seed Version: A lot of my followers didn’t have shelled hemp seeds as the recipe requires. If that is the case with you, you can use oats or chia seeds instead.
  2. Yogurt Persimmon Smoothie: I tested using 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt as an additional ingredient and I liked it. If you are vegan, you can use a vegan yogurt alternative.
  3. Spice It Up: Add 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg and cinnamon for an aromatic and spicy version of this persimmon smoothie.
  4. Boost The Protein  Content Even More: Add a scoop of protein powder or unflavored collagen powder to boost the protein content.

Turn It Into a Smoothie Bowl

It is possible to turn this persimmon smoothie into a smoothie bowl, in fact, it’s super easy!

You need to make the smoothie thicker, to do that, add 1 cup of frozen fruit such as pineapple, mango, or even berries.

To achieve the right consistency, you will also need to cut down on the liquid added to the smoothie. Try cutting it by half, and gradually add more if needed.

Finally, serve the smoothie using your favorite bowls, and add your desired toppings!
