Why You Will Love This Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie
This high protein vegan berry smoothie combined juicy raspberries and rich cocoa for a tasty treat suitable for both breakfast and as a pick-me-up snack!
I sometimes even make this smoothie for a healthy dessert, because it’s that tasty. I add a bit of granola on top, and dig in!
Other reasons why I think you will love this raspberry smoothie as much as me include:
- Decadent Chocolate Flavor: The cocoa powder, especially when combined with chocolate protein powder, offers a rich, decadent taste that satisfies chocolate cravings in a healthy way.
- Sweet and Tart Balance: Frozen raspberries provide a natural sweetness and a tart edge that perfectly balances the richness of the chocolate, creating a complex flavor profile that’s both refreshing and indulgent.
- High Protein Content: With the inclusion of a scoop of protein powder, this smoothie is an excellent source of plant-based protein, essential for muscle repair, growth, and overall health, making it ideal for post-workout recovery or as a filling snack.
- Nutrient-Rich: Besides protein, raspberries and bananas add vitamins, minerals, and fiber to the smoothie, supporting overall health, including digestive health and immune function.
- Dairy-Free and Vegan: Using unsweetened almond milk and plant-based protein powder makes this smoothie suitable for vegans and those avoiding dairy, without compromising on creaminess or taste.
- Easy and Quick to Prepare: This smoothie requires minimal ingredients and can be made in minutes, perfect for a quick breakfast, snack, or dessert option for those with a busy lifestyle.
- Versatility: This recipe is easily customizable; you can adjust the amount of cocoa powder for a more intense chocolate flavor or swap the almond milk for another plant-based milk depending on preference or availability.
- Healthy Indulgence: It offers a guilt-free way to enjoy the flavors of a raspberry chocolate dessert, packed with protein and without added sugars, making it a smart choice for health-conscious individuals craving something sweet.

How To Customize The Smoothie
Customizing this smoothie is super easy.
All of the variations I’ve tested came out delicious, I am sure you will love them.
- No Banana: Not a fan of bananas? Don’t worry, you can swap them for mango or pineapple chunks. Just make sure they are frozen!
- No Protein Powder: If you are avoiding protein powder, you can use 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or yogurt instead of protein powder. For a vegan smoothie, use 1/2 cup of silken tofu!
- Better Chocolate: Cocoa powder is the most available chocolate powdered form in most homes, but, if you can invest in cacao powder, the smoothie will taste so much better and have more benefits.
- Nut Butter: Peanut or almond butter both complement the chocolate and raspberries. Add a tablespoon and make this smoothie creamier and richer.
- Spinach: Add a handful of baby spinach for extra nutrients without impacting the flavor of the smoothie.
