Pulp Smoothie Reviewed By Smoothie Experts

Smoothies are on a popularity rise, have you noticed? New smoothie brands and branches are popping up left, right, and center.

One place that has recently started making smoothies is Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar. They are growing quite quickly in the food service franchise, and they have taken to offering healthy wraps, juices, and smoothies for easy on-the-go fast food with a healthier touch.

This chain was originally located in Northeast Ohio, but as it became more popular it branched out to South Carolina, Ohio (overall), Virginia, and Pennsylvania too!

Since they are so clearly gaining popularity, they must be doing something right, so let’s take a look!

Pulp Smoothie Reviewed

Is Pulp Smoothie Any Good?

Pulp smoothies are believed to be good, but you should make your mind up on this. They differ from many other smoothie locations as they use real fruit, and real fruit and veg juices, they add no sugars, or additives to improve flavors. It is ‘au natural’ per se.

For a location offering easy meals, and cheap eats, they are certainly challenging the norm of fast-food also being ‘heart-attack snacks’ and ‘diabetes dishes’. Instead, pulp smoothie wants to offer food that those even on a health cleanse or diet can eat.

And as much as we love this, we are a little ‘sus’ about it. Now… are these smoothies healthy?

Are Pulp Smoothies Healthy?

Well, to an extent, yes. They keep to their word and they do not add any extra sugars or use ‘fruit juice, which is typically an easy way for smoothie chains to keep costs cheap, and make smoothies in bulk.

Smoothies made with fruit juices are not ‘healthy’, not really, as fruit juices are full of added sugars.

They do have a very extensive list of fruit smoothies, which are generally a favorite (even though they tend to contain an insane amount of sugar as fruit is well known for naturally having a high sugar content), but, they also sell healthier smoothies too.

Their green tea smoothie is super healthy and delicious too. However, we adore their Veggie ‘N’ Green’s selection, with some super healthy and awesome choices such as:

  • Kale Ka-Pow.
  • Carroty Chop.
  • Beet Bada-Boom.
  • Matcha Match.

The only downside to these is the juice. All of these options aside from the Matcha Match include fruit juice, which makes them less healthy.

You can get a healthy smoothie here, just make sure that you know what is packed with sugar, and what isn’t.

What Is The Healthiest Smoothie At Pulp?

We cannot state exactly which is their healthiest smoothie, but in our opinion, their healthiest smoothie would be their ‘Matcha Match’.

Ingredients: Almond milk, matcha green tea, bananas, kale, yogurt with ‘greens blend’.

The inclusion of kale in this smoothie might sound dull to some, but to us, it means it is nutrient-rich, protein-hardcore, and fiber-heavy, which makes this smoothie good. It also has bananas which although not always healthy can be exceptionally so.

Matcha green is super good for you anyway, it is rich in antioxidants which can help your heart and your brain. It is also an energizer, so it is sure to fill you with energy.

Since this smoothie also contains kale and yogurt with bananas, it will work as a great satiated, meaning it will keep you feeling full and help you stop snacking if you are trying to lose weight.

This smoothie has our vote!

FAQs:

Where Did Pulp Smoothie Originate?

Pulp was originally located in the Northeast of Ohio, its owner, Adam Graber had worked as an electrician for 17 years and decided that his environment needed something new and exciting. He took over the location in Ogio and between 2 stores created jobs for up to 30 people!

Does Pulp Put Sugar In Their Smoothies?

Pulp is one of the very few smoothie locations that does not put sugar in their smoothies. Sugar is a massive problem in store-bought smoothies, as the smoothie may seem otherwise healthy when it actually contains more than the daily recommended amount of sugar

What Is The Unhealthiest Smoothie At Pulp Smoothie?

It may seem odd but in our opinion, the unhealthiest smoothie is ‘Tropical Blast’ as it contains sorbet, and sherbet, as well as two kinds of juice. Although it may not necessarily be calorific, it will certainly be full of sugar, which is hardly good for you!
