Simply Smoothie Flavors (Smoothies List)

Let’s begin by taking a look at the flavors that Simply Smoothie has to offer! Unlike many other brands, they have not gone above and beyond in making a million different flavors. Simply Smoothie kept it, well… Simple.

  • Strawberry Banana.
  • Orchard Berry.
  • Mango Pineapple.

These are the three flavors you can get with Simply Smoothie. They do not offer much, but these flavors are all quite popular in the smoothie world. However, they are all, also, fruity.

The issue with fruity smoothies is that they tend to be quite sugar-heavy since fruit contains a lot of natural sugars.

Now, this makes us wonder… Are they healthy?

Are Simply Smoothies Healthy

Simply Smoothies are rather healthy, however, they do contain sugar. But let’s take a closer look at this.

There are 3 flavors of smoothies by Simply Smoothies, so we should look at the nutritional content of each!

Strawberry Banana

As you can see here, Simply Smoothies Strawberry Banana smoothie is low in fats but high in essential nutrients and vitamins. The main issue we see here is the 36 grams of sugar, although none of them are added sugars, 36 grams is still a lot of sugar!

Orchard Berry

Orchard Berry also contains a lot of sugar, however, it is 10 calories lower, and 2 grams of sugar less than Strawberry Banana. It also has a very high vitamin C content but does not have quite as much potassium and magnesium.

Mango Pineapple

Their Mango Pineapple smoothie is delicious, and you would likely think it is the healthiest for you. Which, in theory, it is. This smoothie contains the most vitamins and minerals with a whopping 60% of your daily value for vitamin A, however, it also has the highest total sugars. Yet, it also contains a lot of vitamin C, potassium, and even some calcium!

So, are they healthy? In comparison to some other ready-made smoothies, they may be one of the better options.

However, now we must consider something else, ingredients.

One of the biggest problems with so many ready-made smoothies is juices. Juices are not healthy, no matter what you think. Juice contains so much sugar, and this is what often makes smoothies go from being healthy to incredibly unhealthy.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients!

Strawberry Banana: Strawberry puree, banana puree, apple juice, pear juice, lemon juice, natural flavors.

Orchid Berry: Apple juice, strawberry puree, apple puree, banana puree, pear puree, blueberry puree, pear juice, lemon juice, natural flavors.

Mango Pineapple: Mango puree, pineapple juice, orange juice, apple juice, lemon juice, natural flavors.

And… now we are going back on our word. No, they are not healthy. In theory, they could be, but is loaded with fruit juices makes them so bad, this is where you are getting those 34+ grams of sugar. Perhaps if fresh fruit only was used it might be a bit better. However, fruit is packed with sugar.

Maybe if Simply Smoothie brought out a green smoothie this would not be so bad.

Where Can You Buy Simply Smoothies

Simply Smoothies do not have any added sugars in them. But, they do have quite a large amount of sugar in them. The highest sugar content is in the Mango Pineapple smoothie which has 39 grams of sugar! All of these sugars come from fruits naturally, which are then transferred into the fruit juices that they use, and then into the smoothies.

The biggest issue with Simply Smoothies is that they contain fruit juices, they also do not have any green smoothies, only fruit smoothies, meaning all of their smoothies have high sugar content.

Fruit is healthy, in moderation, but fruit also has a lot of sugar in it, which means that when it is broken down and made into a juice you get more sugar than anything else.

Since there is so much fruit juice in these smoothies, there is also a lot of sugar, and while these sugars are not added, it does not mean that it is healthy. Of course, we also have to remember they contain ‘natural flavors’, which we do not get clarification on the meaning of.

These natural flavors could easily make the high sugar content worse.
