Why You Will Love This Copycat Smoothie King Strawberry Xtreme Recipe

copycat Smoothie King Strawberry Xtreme Recipe

In my personal opinion, the Strawberry Xtreme is one of the best Smoothie King smoothies!

But, it’s expensive to buy smoothies from Smoothie King. This is why I love making this smoothie at home.

It’s not only cheaper, but healthier too.

But that’s not all…

  1. Convenience: There’s no need to travel to your local Smoothie King when you can whip up your favorite treat in the comfort of your home. It’s perfect for a quick breakfast, a refreshing snack, or a post-exercise replenishment without the wait.
  2. Family-Friendly Activity: Making smoothies can be a fun and engaging activity for the whole family. Kids can help add ingredients and watch their creation blend into something delicious, encouraging healthier eating habits by involving them in the process.
  3. Healthier Ingredients: By making this smoothie at home, you have the control to use fresh, high-quality ingredients and avoid added sugars or preservatives, boosting the nutritional value and making it a healthier option.
  4. Cost-Effective: The homemade version is more cost-effective than the Smoothie King’s. You can enjoy the delicious taste of your favorite Smoothie King drink at a fraction of the price.
  5. Customizable to Dietary Needs: When you make the Strawberry Xtreme smoothie yourself, you can easily adjust the recipe to suit any dietary restrictions or preferences, such as using plant-based milk for a vegan version or adding protein powder for a post-workout boost.

Recipe Variations

a spoonful of Smoothie King Strawberry Xtreme

As I was developing this copycat smoothie king strawberry extreme recipe, I tried to make it taste as close to the original as possible.

Below you will find different variations of this recipe, that you might want to try!

  1. Instead of frozen strawberries, you can use strawberry ice cream or even strawberry sorbet for a more indulgent treat or a healthier dessert.
  2. Instead of apple juice, use another type of fruit juice, such as orange juice or cranberry juice.
  3. Add some protein to the smoothie by either adding 1/2 cup of yogurt or a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
  4. Add a tablespoon of chia seeds for extra nutrients without impacting the flavor of the smoothie.

Recipe Equipment:

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh x
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender x
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender x
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender x

To make this smoothie, you will need a powerful blender.

I have tried using lower-speed blenders, and they simply don’t work.

The recipe calls for frozen fruit and very little liquid. Lower-speed blenders require a lot more liquid to blend frozen ingredients.

This smoothie has to be thick. Adding more liquid will result in an everyday strawberry smoothie, not Smoothie King strawberry extreme.

My Top Tips For Making Smoothie King Strawberry Extreme At Home:

  1. Use Frozen Strawberries: Incorporating frozen strawberries will give your smoothie a thick, frosty texture similar to what you’d get at Smoothie King. It also means you can enjoy this smoothie any time of year, regardless of strawberry season.
  2. Choose High-Quality Ingredients: Opt for high-quality, apple juice and strawberries to ensure the smoothie is as flavorful as possible. The sweetness and creaminess of the strawberries and apple juice can significantly impact the smoothie’s taste, so pick the ones that are just right.
  3. Blend to Perfect Consistency: Start by blending the liquid apple juice with the fresh strawberries first to create a smooth base. Then, gradually add the frozen strawberries until the smoothie reaches your desired consistency. If it’s too thick, you can add a bit more apple juice; if too thin, a few more frozen strawberries can thicken it up.
