Smoothie Bowl Variations, Recipe Notes And Tips:

If you like experimenting, or simply have to swap ingredients, you can do so on your own will, or try some of my tested suggestions below:

  • Boost With Protein: If you are not avoiding dairy, add 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt. Adjust the almond milk to 1/4 cup though.
  • Swap The Base: Use thick coconut milk or oat milk instead of almond.
  • Add Seeds: Add a spoonful of chia or flaxseeds for extra goodness!
  • No Banana: Swap the banana slices for extra mango or use pineapple instead.
  • Make It Sweeter: You can add a tablespoon of maple syrup for extra sweetness!
  • Swap The Nut Butter: If you don’t have any almond or cashew butter, peanut butter can work just fine!

My Top Tips For Making The Perfect Spirulina Smoothie Bowl

If you follow these tips, you will be able to achieve the perfect smoothie bowl every time!

  1. Use Frozen Fruit: Make sure you shop ahead of time for frozen fruit or freeze the fruits yourself overnight before making this smoothie bowl.
  2. Follow The Recipe Precisely: Measure the ingredients carefully, ensuring they are exactly as listed. This is important if you want to make the perfect smoothie bowl!
  3. Use a High-Speed Blender: To make this smoothie bowl, you will need a high-speed blender, ideally one with a pushdown stick. This way you can make an ultra creamy smoothie without the of lots of liquid.
  4. Chill The Serving Bowl: Before making the smoothie, place your serving bowl in the fridge and freezer. The bowl will be chill by the time it’s time to serve!
  5. Enhance With Toppings: Add toppings that complement the smoothie bowl. Experiment on your own, it can be so fun, especially with kids.
  6. Eat ASAP: As soon as the smoothie bowl is served, eat it immediately, as it will start to thaw. It’s like ice cream!

Recipe Equipment

I high recommend that you use a blender with a pushdown stick if you want to make an ultra-thick smoothie.

If you don’t mind how thick your smoothie is, a Nutribullet can do a perfect job, alternatively use AmzChef, Ninja, or a food processor.
