Fresh Strawberry Mint Smoothie

Today we want to share a light and very fresh strawberry smoothie recipe with you. This one’s ideal for hot summer days when you need something refreshing, yet incredibly tasty.

The main ingredients in this smoothie are strawberries, bananas, apples, and mineral water.

This smoothie, on the other hand, is a bit fancier. In our opinion, the mint leaves make the smoothie feel slightly like a delicious cocktail.

Strawberry Mint Smoothie

A great thing about this strawberry banana mint smoothie is that it’s quite low in calories: 350 ml (11.8 oz) serving contains only 163 calories.

This dairy-free smoothie is almost 100% fruit and it is rich in dietary fiber (27% of RDA), vitamin C (114% of RDA) as well as vitamin B6 (25% of RDA).

Did you know that 100 grams of strawberries give you 97% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C?

The same amount of strawberries contains 2 grams of dietary fiber, which amounts to 8 percent of the RDA (recommended dietary allowance).  

In this recipe, one serving should contain 125 grams of strawberries, which means that you would get a bit more vitamin C than “needed” and some 10% of the dietary fiber from just one serving!

Apples on the other hand are even richer in dietary fiber: 17% of RDA in just one medium-sized apple. However, apples do not contain that much vitamin C. One medium-sized apple contains “only” 14 percent of the RDA.

Here’s How To Make Strawberry Mint Smoothie

You will need:

  • Strawberries
  • Banana
  • Apple
  • Leaves Of Mint
  • Lime Juice
  • Mineral Water
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Ice

To make this smoothie – simply add all the ingredients to a blender, and blitz until completely smooth.
Pour into your smoothie glass and enjoy!

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4 cups/9oz strawberries
  • 1 medium-sized banana
  • 1 apple washed and cored
  • 10 leaves peppermint leave a couple for decoration
  • 1 tbsp lime juice or lemon juice
  • 125ml still mineral water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the strawberries. Peel and the core the apple. Peel the banana.
  • Chop the fruits and put them into the blender jar.
  • Pour the water and lime juice into the blender. Add strawberries, peppermint leaves (put aside a couple for decoration) and vanilla extract with 2-3 cubes of ice.
  • Process until smooth.
  • Pour the smoothie into glasses. Decorate with fresh mint, strawberries and ice.
