Why You Will Love This Beet Smoothie For Weight Loss

Weight Loss Beetroot Smoothie with raspberries

This berry beet smoothie has so much more to offer than just weight loss.

It’s tasty, earthy, nutritious and so much more.

Here’s why I think you will love this smoothie:

  1. Low in Calories, High in Nutrients: With an estimated calorie count of around 241 kcal per serving, this smoothie is an excellent low-calorie meal replacement or snack that doesn’t skimp on nutrients. It’s packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, supporting overall health while you’re cutting calories.
  2. Rich in Dietary Fiber: High fiber content (approximately 14.2g per serving) helps promote satiety, keeping you fuller for longer and reducing the likelihood of snacking on high-calorie foods. Fiber also supports digestive health, which is crucial for effective weight loss. (Source)
  3. Natural Detoxification: Beetroot contains compounds that support liver health and the body’s natural detoxification processes, potentially aiding in weight loss by improving metabolic function and eliminating toxins.
  4. Antioxidant-Rich: The antioxidants in raspberries, beetroot, and almond butter combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. (Source)
  5. Metabolism Boosting: The almond butter contains healthy fats and protein. (Source)
  6. Versatility and Flavor: The unique combination of sweet and earthy flavors from the beetroot and raspberries, along with the creaminess of almond butter and milk, makes for a deliciously satisfying drink. This versatility ensures you don’t get bored with your weight loss diet, making it easier to stick to your goals.

Recipe Customizations & Smoothie Notes

beet smoothie ingredients

If the list of ingredients I used to make this colorful beet smoothie is not to your liking, or you simply don’t have them ready to use at home, here are some other options:

  • The Beet: Instead of steamed beetroot, you can also use raw beetroot in this drink too.
  • Nut-Free: If you are nut-free, you can substitute the almond butter for either sunflower seed butter or chia seeds instead. As for almond milk, use oat or coconut milk instead.
  • The Berries: Instead of raspberries, you can use any other berry you like, strawberries for example work really well with beets.
  • The Cucumber: The cucumber can be substituted for watermelon or even celery.
  • Nutrient Boost: Throw a handful of greens such as kale or spinach for an easy nutrient boost.
