Enjoy a dairy-free wheatgrass smoothie, a refreshing and nutritious blend of wheatgrass powder, fruits, and coconut milk, perfect for a healthful energy boost.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tbsp of wheatgrass powder (I used this one)
  • 1 cup frozen banana chunks
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp oats
  • 1 cup coconut water

Instructions

  1. Soak the chia seeds in the coconut water for 5 minutes.
  2. Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender or a Nutribullet. I like to add my soft ingredients first, the oats, chia, wheatgrass, and coconut water, followed by the frozen banana.
  3. Blend for 3 minutes.
  4. Pour into a glass filled with ice if you like, and enjoy!

Recipe Variations And Smoothie Notes:

Customizing the recipe is really easy.

You can experiment with your own variations, or try some of my suggested ones below:

  1. No Banana: Swap the banana for mango or pineapple. You can even use berries.
  2. Protein Boost: Use a scoop of protein powder or 1/2 cup of yogurt if you are not avoiding dairy.
  3. No Oats: For an oat-free smoothie, use a tablespoon of nut butter instead.
  4. The Smoothie Base: Swap the coconut water for regular water, or dairy-free milk of choice.
  5. Increase The Sweetness: Add 1/2 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.

Recipe Equipment:

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh x
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender

The BlendJet 4000mAh was the only blender that struggled to blend this smoothie.

It is by no means off limits, it just didn’t do as good a job as the other higher-speed blenders I own.

This is why I recommend that you use a higher-speed blender for this recipe.
