Ingredients
- 1 whole lemon (peeled and seeds removed)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger root
- 2–3 soft dates
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Peel the lemon and remove the seeds.
- Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend for 2-3 minutes, or until smooth.
- Pour the drink into a cup and drink immediately!

Recipe Variations
I have been making this drink for several years now, and have experimented numerous times.
Below I will leave some variations of this lemon drink that you could try:
No Blending:
- Juice the lemon, and finely dice the ginger.
- You won’t be able to use any dates.
- Simply stir all the ingredients together and enjoy!
Use The Skin:
- Instead of peeling the lemon, keep the skin on, but slice in in half and remove any seeds you can see.
- If using the skin-on method, I highly recommend that you use organic lemons and wash them thoroughly.
Vegan Variation:
- Swap the honey for agave or maple syrup.
When To Drink This Whole Lemon Smoothie
There is no perfect time to drink this. I personally love to drink it in the morning, but this is a personal preference.
But, your options are:
- First Thing in the Morning: Drinking this lemon-infused beverage on an empty stomach can help to wake up the digestive system and hydrate the body after a night’s rest.
- Before Meals: Consuming it before meals may aid in digestion, boost metabolism, and help manage hunger.
