Freezing bananas for smoothies is so easy, and always so convenient when you need them for smoothies.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 56 semi-ripe to ripe bananas (even overly ripe bananas can work, but it would be more difficult to slice them in a uniform shape.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a large baking tray lined with non-stick parchment paper.
  2. Grab your bananas and peel them.
  3. Slice the bananas into rounds that are between 1/4″ to 1/2″ thick.
  4. Lay the banana slices flat on the tray, not letting any overlap.
  5. Once you have prepared your bananas, place the tray with bananas in the freezer, and allow them to freeze for 30 minutes to an hour. Ensure they are frozen before you take them out.
  6. Once they are frozen, use a spatula to remove the banana slices from the baking sheet.
  7. place your frozen banana slices into your freezer-safe bag.
  8. Now, place your freezer bag filled with bananas in the freezer. Use them whenever you need them.

Notes

The frozen banana slices can last up to 2-3 months in the freezer.
