Why Is This Apricot Smoothie Good For Weight Loss?

weight loss apricot smoothie made with 2 ingredients

This coconut water smoothie with apricots contains 2 ingredients: natural, clean, and low in calories.

The smoothie is filling but low in calories, making it ideal for weight loss.

Filling full helps you cut down on snacking, helping you reduce the overall calories consumed for the day, leading to weight loss.

Combined with healthier food choices, exercise, and other efforts, the chances of losing weight are high.

Apricot Smoothie Variations

The smoothie is super basic. It only needs 2 ingredients.

It might be too boring for you? If that is the case, here are some ideas on how you can elevate it:

  • Add Yogurt: 1/2 cup of yogurt together with the other 2 ingredients can make the smoothie higher in protein, and much more filling.
  • Add Chia Seeds: Or oats, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. All these options will provide more nutrients and fiber to your smoothie.
  • Mix in Fresh Ginger and Lemon Juice: Add a small piece of fresh ginger and a tablespoon of lemon juice to the apricot smoothie. Ginger adds a zesty kick and digestive benefits, while lemon juice brings a refreshing tang and vitamin C boost.
  • Blend with Spinach and Cucumber: For a green smoothie twist, include a handful of spinach and a few slices of cucumber. This variation is excellent for adding extra vitamins and minerals without overpowering the apricot flavor. (See my recipe: Spinach And Cucumber Smoothie).
  • Add Mixed Berries and Vanilla Extract: Toss in a mix of frozen berries (like strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries) and a few drops of vanilla extract. Berries add antioxidants and a lovely color, while vanilla enhances the overall flavor profile of the smoothie.

Just note that I personally found the apricot smoothie perfectly fine with 2 ingredients only!

Smoothie Tips:

  1. For a cooler thicker smoothie, use frozen apricots.
  2. Avoid over-blending the smoothie, otherwise you might cause it to become foamy.
  3. Serve the smoothie over ice for freshness!

Recipe FAQS:

What Kind Of Coconut Water Is Best For This Smoothie?

Preferably, use 100% pure coconut water. You can find them in big grocery stores.

Can I Use Other Liquid Than Coconut Water?

Yes, you can use unsweetened dairy-free milk of choice. Oat, almond, and coconut milk are all wonderful choices that work well with the apricots.

When Should I Drink This Smoothie To Lose Weight?

I like to drink this smoothie in the afternoon, as a healthy snack. I typically snack on chocolate and other sugary treats, so I simply replace them with a nourishing low calorie healthy apricot smoothie.
