Why I Love This Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie
If you love making chocolate smoothie recipes at home just as much as me, you and I can be friends!
Chocolate smoothies are my favorite, but this strawberry and chocolate smoothie is on top of my list!
Here is why I love it and why I think you will too:
- Rich Chocolate Taste: The cacao powder gives it a deep, satisfying chocolate flavor that chocolate lovers will adore. As you can imagine, yes I am a chocoholic!
- Naturally Sweet: Strawberries and a hint of maple syrup provide a natural sweetness that cuts through the bitterness of the chocolate beautifully.
- High Protein: The protein powder in the smoothie boosts protein content, making the smoothie not only delicious, but filling too!
- Nutrient-Packed: Offers a good dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants from strawberries and cacao.
- Quick & Simple: Easy to blend up in minutes for a nutritious smoothie that tastes like dessert!!
- Versatile: Can customize with vanilla or chocolate protein powder to suit your flavor preference. And many other variations you could try!
If you enjoy this smoothie, I recommend that you try my protein chocolate raspberry smoothie too, and my chocolate avocado smoothie recipe!
Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes
I love experimenting with different ingredients when I develop my smoothie recipes.
Below are some variations I have personally tested and loved:
- Use Any Dairy-Free Milk Of Choice: I have tested almond, soy, and oat, and I personally loved almond milk best, but the others were good in the smoothie too!
- Instead Of Cacao Powder, Use Cocoa Powder: Cacao powder is much higher quality than your typical cocoa powder. But, cocoa powder also works pretty well!
- Swap The Maple Syrup: If you are not vegan, you can use honey instead of maple syrup.
- Choose Your Protein Powder: I have tested both vanilla and chocolate protein powder. Both work well. However, if you like your smoothies more chocolatey, I suggest you use chocolate protein powder!
Recipe Equipment:
My Nutribullet 600 does a great job with this smoothie.
However, I have also used my Vitamix blender, and it works great with the recipe too.
I have not tested using lower speed blenders. Let me know if you do try the recipe with other blenders and whether the recipe worked with them.
