Today I am sharing my copycat detox island green smoothie recipe with you.

I love long island green smoothies…but I stopped buying as many smoothies when I go out, just because they do break the bank!

But, I do love the smoothies from Tropical smoothie.

Making a copycat version of this smoothie can reduce the expense by more than half. Not to mention that the smoothie comes together in less than five minutes!

Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes

Since you are making this smoothie at home, you can customize it any way you want.

But, if you need some ideas, below I will leave some suggestions that I have personally tested and loved.

  1. Boost The Protein: You can add 1/2 cup of yogurt or a scoop of protein powder.
  2. The Base: For a sweeter smoothie, use apple juice instead of coconut water.
  3. The Spinach: You can use kale or other leafy greens instead of spinach.
  4. No Frozen Fruit: If you don’t have frozen fruit, you can use fresh fruit, but you will need to add 1 cup of ice cubes.

Recipe Equipment:

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh x
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender x
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender x
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender x

To make this smoothie, you will need a high-speed blender.

Lower speed blenders won’t work with this recipe, I have tried it.

A lower budget blender that works with this recipe is the Nutribullet 600!
