Smoothie Variations And Recipe Notes
If you want to change up the recipe slightly to better suit your preferences, you can easily do so.
Feel free to experiment on your own will, or try some of my suggestions below:
- Swap The Fruit: For a more tropical-tasting smoothie, use frozen mango or pineapple instead of blueberries.
- Boost With Protein: Add 1/2 cup of yogurt or a scoop of protein powder for extra protein.
- Swap The Chia Seeds: Use oats or flaxseeds instead of chia seeds.
- Natural Sweetness: If you are avoiding sugar syrup, use 1-2 pitted dates instead of maple syrup.
- Extra Nutrients: Throw a handful of spinach for extra nutrients without impacting the flavor of this smoothie.

Almond Butter Smoothie Recipe FAQs:
What Type of Almond Butter Should I Use for This Smoothie?
You can use any type of almond butter you prefer. Raw almond butter will provide a more subtle flavor, while roasted almond butter offers a deeper, nuttier taste. Flavored almond butters, like those with added honey or cinnamon, can also add extra dimensions to the flavor.
Can I Use Fresh Blueberries Instead of Frozen in This Smoothie?
Yes, you can use fresh blueberries. Using fresh berries will make the smoothie less thick to using frozen blueberries. If you prefer a colder and thicker smoothie, you can add a few ice cubes.
How Should I Store Leftover Smoothie?
Store any leftover smoothie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Because the ingredients may separate, give it a good shake or a quick blend before consuming again.
