How Much Apple Cider Vinegar Should You Add To a Smoothie?

green smoothie in a glass cup

A general rule of thumb is 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar per serving.

If you are filling up a big jug, which is likely to serve 2-3 I like to add 2 tablespoons.

These are just general rules, test and make sure the quantities fit your own tastes.

Tasty Recipe Variations

I had a lot of fun developing this smoothie with apple cider vinegar.

I tested numerous variations, using different ingredient combinations.

Try them out, they are all yummy!

  1. Swap The Pineapple: I tested using mango and berries instead of pineapple. Just make sure the substitutes are frozen fruits!
  2. Swap The Liquid Base: The original recipe contains almond milk, but a really tasty substitute is coconut water.
  3. Add Some Protein: I have tested both adding yogurt, or a protein powder to boost the protein content. 1/2 cup of yogurt, or 2 small scoops of powder.
  4. Citrus Twist: Experiment with refreshing citrus fruits like frozen mandarin oranges or grapefruit instead of pineapple for a zesty twist.
  5. Nutty Banana Variation: Use a frozen banana as an additional ingredient to the original recipe. 1/4 cup is plenty. This variation brings a creamy texture and extra sweetness.
  6. Superfood Infusion: Boost the power of your smoothie by incorporating superfoods. Add a teaspoon of spirulina or acai powder for an antioxidant boost and a unique earthy flavor. It’s a vibrant and nutritious enhancement.
