Why You Will Love This Cherry Smoothie For Weight Loss

Cherry Smoothie For Weight Loss

This weight loss chocolate smoothie is not only delicious and cravings curbing, but it also contains many more benefits outside of weight loss.

One of my personal favorite things about this smoothie is the fact that it tastes like dessert, and helps you lose weight at the same time.

Other reasons why I think you will love this smoothie include:

  1. Rich in Antioxidants: Cherries are loaded with antioxidants that fight free radicals and reduce inflammation, which is crucial for a healthy weight loss journey and overall well-being.
  2. High in Protein: The combination of Greek yogurt and protein powder makes this smoothie a high-protein treat, which is essential for enhancing satiety, helping to curb hunger, and preventing overeating.
  3. Supports Digestive Health: With 5 grams of fiber, this smoothie aids in digestion and promotes a healthy gut.
  4. Low in Calories: At approximately 223 calories per serving, this smoothie is a low-calorie option that’s perfect for anyone looking to lose weight.
  5. Natural Energy Booster: The natural sugars from cherries, combined with the protein and healthy fats, provide a sustained energy release, making it an excellent choice for a pre-workout boost or a midday pick-me-up.
  6. Mood Enhancing: Cacao is known for its mood-enhancing properties, thanks to the presence of flavonoids and magnesium, which can help reduce stress and improve mood, making your weight loss journey more enjoyable.
  7. Bone Health Support: With 260 mg of calcium per serving, this smoothie supports bone health.
  8. Versatile and Customizable: This smoothie recipe is easily adaptable to suit individual tastes and dietary needs, allowing for various substitutions and add-ins to keep it exciting and nutritionally balanced.

If you try this smoothie and love it, I recommend that you also try my anti-inflammatory cherry mango smoothie and my high protein chocolate raspberry smoothie.

Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes

Cherries and chocolate are both wonderful flavors that combine very well with many different ingredients.

This means the smoothie can easily be customized.

Here are some ideas:

  • Vegan: If you are vegan, use vegan yogurt and vegan protein powder. I love using coconut yogurt, and pea protein powder.
  • Extra Chocolatey: You can use chocolate protein powder for a deeper chocolate-flavored smoothie.
  • No Protein Powder: Instead of protein powder, you can add nut butter, but this won’t contribute to the same amount of protein.
  • Greens: Add a handful of greens such as spinach or kale for extra nutrients, without adding too many extra calories or impacting the flavor of the smoothie.

Recipe Tips:

  • Use Frozen Cherries: An important aspect of this recipe is the frozen cherries. They add cooling and thick texture to the smoothie, which makes it a lot more indulgent and satisfying.
  • Choose Quality Protein Powder: Selecting a high-quality, unsweetened protein powder ensures a clean, nutrient-rich addition.
  • Chill Your Coconut Milk: For an extra cold smoothie, refrigerate your coconut milk beforehand.
  • Use a High-Speed Blender If Possible: A high-speed blender will ensure your smoothie is velvety smooth, especially important for fully incorporating the Greek yogurt and protein powder.

Equipment:

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh x
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender x
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender

Two of my blenders didn’t blend the smoothie as well as the other blenders.

This is why I recommend that you use a higher-speed blender in order to achieve the best-tasting smoothie.

If I have not included customization ideas for your specific dietary need, send me a message and I will provide you with a revised recipe.
