Why I Love This Sweet Potato Smoothie Bowl

Most smoothie bowls are sweet and fruity. This sweet potato smoothie is a bit more on the savory side, making the taste a bit unique and different.

I also love this smoothie bowl for dinner…yes dinner! I add seeds and nuts, and honestly, it’s a complete meal.

Other reasons why I love this vegetable smoothie bowl include:

  1. Naturally Sweet: The combination of sweet potatoes, and mango provides natural sweetness that is both satisfying and guilt-free.
  2. Rich and Creamy Texture: The combination of sweet potato, Greek yogurt, and almond butter provide a creamy, indulgent texture that makes the smoothie bowl feel like a treat.
  3. Nutrient-Dense: Loaded with vitamins A and C from sweet potatoes and mango, and healthy fats from almond butter.
  4. Easy to Prepare: Simple to blend and quick to serve, this smoothie bowl is ideal for a hassle-free, nutritious meal.
  5. Warm Spices: A hint of cinnamon adds a warm, comforting spice that enhances the overall flavor.
  6. High in Fiber: High fiber content from sweet potatoes and mango aids digestion and promotes satiety.
  7. Versatile: Perfect as a breakfast, snack, or even dinner, and easy to customize with your favorite toppings like nuts, seeds, or additional fruit.

Recipe Variations & Smoothie Bowl Recipe Notes

a spoon scoping a sweet potato smoothie bowl

Honestly, this sweet potato smoothie bowl is perfect as it is if you follow my recipe, however, there are some changes you can make to the recipe should you want to.

For example:

  • Swap The Mango: You can use any fruit of choice instead of mango. if you don’t mind bananas, for example, you can use them. Otherwise, pineapple and berries work great too.
  • Nut-Free: If you are avoiding nuts, use chia or flaxseeds instead of almond butter and oat or soy milk instead of almond milk.
  • Protein-Packed: Add a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein for a boost of protein!
  • Vegan Smoothie Bowl: Swap the dairy yogurt for a vegan alternative. I love using coconut yogurt.

Recipe Equipment:

I have only ever tested making this smoothie using my Nutribullet 600.

However, powerful blenders such as a Vitamix should work with this recipe.

When To Eat This Smoothie Bowl:

I personally love eating this veggie smoothie bowl for breakfast. It’s filling, and nourishing, and it’s ready in under 5 minutes.

I make sure to pre-cook my sweet potatoes the night before, and that’s all the prep done!

Of course, you can eat this smoothie whenever you like.
