Why You Will Love This Weight Loss Fig Smoothie
One of my favorite things about this fig and banana smoothie is how sweet it is, and the way it helps curb cravings.
I have a sweet tooth, which has always been the main reason why I gain weight.
Whenever I crave something sweet, instead of indulging in a tub of ice cream, I make this smoothie.
Other reasons why I think you will love this smoothie as much as me include:
- Rich in Fiber: Both figs and oats are high in dietary fiber, which aids in digestion, promotes a feeling of fullness, and can help in managing weight by reducing unnecessary snacking.
- Nutrient-Dense: This smoothie is packed with nutrients from its whole food ingredients, including vitamins from the figs and bananas, minerals from the oats, and healthy fats from the peanut butter.
- Energy Boosting: The natural sugars in bananas and figs, combined with the protein and healthy fats from peanut butter, provide a balanced source of energy, making it an excellent choice for a breakfast smoothie or a midday energy boost.
- Creamy Texture: The combination of frozen banana, peanut butter, and almond milk creates a creamy, satisfying texture that makes this smoothie feel indulgent while still being healthful.
- Dairy-Free and Vegan-Friendly: Using almond milk and peanut butter ensures this smoothie is both dairy-free and vegan, making it suitable for a wide range of dietary preferences and restrictions.

Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes
I love trying out different variations of smoothies.
Here are some customizations you could make that I have personally loved:
- No Banana: For a fig smoothie with no banana, use mango instead of bananas, or even papaya and dragon fruit works.
- Oat Substitute: If you struggle to digest oats, use chia seeds or flaxseeds instead.
- Peanut Butter Alternatives: I have tried both almond and cashew butter instead of peanut butter, and loved them in this smoothie!
- The Figs: You can use fresh figs instead of dried ones. But do note that the smoothie won’t come out as thick or sweet if you use fresh figs.

Smoothie FAQs:
When Is The Best Time To Drink This Smoothie For Weight Loss?
For weight loss, this fig smoothie is best consumed as a breakfast replacement or post-workout snack. It provides energy and satiety in the morning and supports muscle recovery and refuels energy after exercise, all while helping to manage hunger and reduce overall calorie intake.
Is There a Specific Order I Should Follow When Adding Ingredients To The Blender?
To blend more efficiently, start by adding the liquid ingredients (almond milk) first, followed by softer ingredients (figs, peanut butter), and then add the frozen banana and oats. This helps create a smoother blend without overworking your blender.
Can The Oats Be Used Raw, Or Do They Need To Be Cooked First?
The oats can be used raw and do not need to be cooked. They'll blend smoothly into the smoothie, providing texture and fiber. If you prefer, you can use quick oats for an even smoother texture.
Can I Make This Fig Smoothie Ahead Of Time?
For the best taste and texture, I recommend that you enjoy the smoothie immediately after blending. However, you can prepare it up to 24 hours in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Shake or blend again before serving.
