Paleo Smoothie served in a round glass cup

This paleo smoothie is an easy and convenient way to obtain vital nutrients that support your health goals.

It takes 5 minutes to make this smoothie, which is not only a wonderful snack choice, but also a light meal replacement.

Other reasons why you should make this smoothie include:

  1. High Protein Content: The inclusion of egg white protein powder makes this smoothie a high-protein option, perfect for muscle repair, recovery, and growth. It’s particularly beneficial for those who are active or looking to increase their protein intake in a paleo-friendly way.
  2. Rich in Healthy Fats: Almond butter and coconut milk provide healthy fats that are essential for brain health, hormone production, and providing sustained energy, all while adhering to paleo dietary guidelines. (Source)
  3. Packed with Vitamins and Minerals: Ingredients like spinach and strawberries are high in essential nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin K, iron, and manganese, supporting immune function, bone health, and overall wellness. (Source)
  4. Supports Digestive Health: The fiber from spinach and strawberries aids in digestion and promotes gut health, crucial for anyone following a paleo diet focused on whole foods and natural ingredients. (Source)
  5. Low in Sugar: This smoothie is naturally low in sugar, with the only sweetness coming from whole fruits. A serving of this fruit paleo smoothie contains 10.1g of sugar.
  6. Dairy-Free and Grain-Free: Adhering to paleo principles, this smoothie is free from dairy and grains, making it suitable for those avoiding these food groups due to allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences.
  7. Quick and Easy to Prepare: For busy mornings or a quick post-workout snack, this smoothie can be whipped up in just a few minutes, offering a nutritious and satisfying meal or snack without much prep time.
  8. Versatile and Customizable: While the smoothie is delicious as-is, it’s also easily customizable. You can add other paleo-friendly ingredients like chia seeds, flaxseeds, or different types of berries to suit your taste preferences and nutritional needs.

Recipe Notes:

Keep these 3 things in mind when you make this paleo smoothie recipe:

  • Make sure you use paleo-friendly protein powder.
  • Make sure your coconut milk is paleo-friendly.
  • The almond butter used has to be made using 100% nuts, with no added sweeteners or oils.

All the rest of the ingredients used in this recipe are naturally paleo-friendly.

Optional Ingredient Substitutions:

There are a couple of ingredient swaps you can make in this smoothie recipe. Here are some of them:

  • You can use any berry you like, it doesn’t have to be strawberries
  • If you don’t like spinach, using kale or other leafy greens is totally fine.
  • Instead of almond butter, any other nut butter used is fine, as long as it’s made using 100% nuts and unsweetened.

Ingredient Add-ins:

You can easily incorporate extra ingredients and boost the nutrition in this smoothie.

  • Chia Seeds: Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to boost fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants. They thicken the smoothie, giving it a satisfying texture while enhancing its nutritional profile.
  • Cacao Powder: For a chocolatey twist without added sugars, mix in 1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder.
  • MCT Oil: Incorporate 1 tablespoon of MCT oil to increase energy levels and support brain health. MCT oil is a popular addition to paleo diets for its fast-metabolizing fats.
  • Avocado: Add 1/4 of an avocado to increase creaminess and provide additional healthy fats, fiber, and potassium, making the smoothie even more filling.
  • Collagen Powder: Mix in 1 scoop of unsweetened collagen powder for joint support, skin health, and extra protein. It’s paleo-friendly and dissolves easily without altering the flavor.
  • Cinnamon: Sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon for its anti-inflammatory properties and to add warmth and spice.

Even if you own a lower-speed blender, the recipe should be able to work with it.
