How To Customize This Smoothie To Suit Your Taste

There are so many changes you can make to this recipe, that may better suit your taste.

One thing to note about this smoothie is that it’s relatively low in sugar, since it’s only sweetened using strawberries.

This could be a reason why you might want to customize it to suit your taste.

Some other customization options include:

  • If you don’t mind bananas, add 1/2 ripe banana sliced to your blender as an addition to the other ingredients. Bananas will add creaminess and sweetness.
  • The lime can be replaced with lemon instead. Just make sure you use freshly squeezed juice.
  • You can replace the strawberries altogether and use a different berry. Blueberries & raspberries are both great replacements.
  • For more flavor and nutrition, instead of using plain water, use coconut water or dairy-free milk.
  • If you want to achieve a stronger-tasting tropical flavor, consider adding mango or pineapple. 1/4 cup is plenty!
  • For a cocktail drink, add a couple of shots of white rum, it works so well with the fruity taste of this smoothie.

My Top Tops When Making The Strawberry Lime Smoothie Recipe

Making a smoothie may be seen as an easy job by many, but there are some tricks you should know in order to achieve the perfect consistency!

For this particular smoothie, the tips are as follows:

  1. Add your most difficult ingredients to blend first to your blender or Nutribullet. The closer they are to the blades, the better they will be processed.
  2. Start the blending at a low speed, then gradually increase it. This will allow your blender blades to break down all the hard ingredients first.
  3. Stop and taste the smoothie as it’s blended halfway through; adjust sweetness and acidity by adding more fruit, maple syrup, or lime juice.

How To Store The Strawberry Limeade

Since the smoothie contains frozen fruit, it doesn’t store very well.

However, once the smoothie is blended, make sure you refrigerate it immediately.

I use those gym-style water bottles to transfer the blended smoothie because the lid closes tightly.

Once the smoothie is transferred, refrigerate it, and consume the smoothie within 24 hours, ensuring you shake it well before consumption!
