Smoothie Variations & Recipe Notes

Since the smoothie contains 4 ingredients only, there are so many different ways to elevate this recipe.

From adding more ingredients to even swapping some.

Here are some suggestions I have personally tested:

  1. No Banana Variation: If you dislike bananas, you can swap them for mango, pineapple, or even another type of berry. Just make sure they are frozen.
  2. Nut-Free Smoothie: Swap the peanut butter for sun butter, or use chia seeds instead.
  3. Green Boost: Add a handful of spinach or kale for an extra nutrient boost without impacting the flavor of the smoothie.
  4. Protein Boost: Increase the protein content of this smoothie easily by adding a scoop of protein powder.
  5. Increase The Sweetness: You can add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.

AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender

The smoothie is quite thick and doesn’t have much liquid in it, which is why not all blenders are compatible.

You will need a high-speed blender to be able to break down all the ingredients with minimal liquid.

Nutribullet is my favorite for this job.

Smoothie FAQs:

According to Healthline – kefir is a lot more powerful than yogurt in terms of probiotics. Kefir contains an incredible up to 61 strains of bacteria and yeasts. Compared to yogurt, kefir is simply a better choice. Kefir is also low in lactose, making it suitable for people who might be slightly sensitive to lactose.

I Don't Have Frozen Fruit - Can I Use Fresh?

You can of course use fresh fruit instead of frozen, but the texture of the smoothie will be changed. It won't be as thick and cooling.

Does Blending Kefir Destroy It's Benefits?

No. Blending kefir does not impact it's nutrients or benefits. You can freely blend it with your fruits and chose ingredients without losing any benefits or nutrients.
