Smoothie Variations And Recipe Notes:

While I think the original recipe is perfect as it is, you can certainly customize it should you want to.

Feel free to experiment on your own, or try some of my suggestions below:

  1. Add Protein: If you are not avoiding dairy, adding 1/2 cup of yogurt will not only add protein to the smoothie, but it will also increase the creaminess of it.
  2. No Chia Seeds: If you don’t have chia seeds, use other seeds instead, oats, or nut butter.
  3. More Lemon Flavor: Instead of only using the juice of the lemon, I recommended that you also use the zest of the lemon.
  4. More Sweetness: Increase the sweetness of this smoothie by adding a teaspoon of honey, agave, or maple syrup!

Recipe Equipment:

Blender Type Suitability
Nutribullet 600
Vitamix Blender Propel 510
BlendJet 4000mAh x
Ninja Blender BL610
Oster 6640 Blender x
Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender
AMZChef Blender 1800 W
Wamife Blender

The smoothie recipe is best made using a high-speed blender.

That’s because the smoothie comes out quite thick, thanks to the use of frozen fruit.

If you are using a lower-speed blender, you would need to add a lot more liquid, resulting in a thinner smoothie.
