Kiwi Orange Smoothie – 3 Ways!

While I think you will love the original recipe as it is, you might prefer some of the other tasty variations you could try!

Here they are:

#1. Protein Version

You can easily boost the protein content in this kiwi smoothie.

Some ways include:

  1. Add a scoop of protein powder.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt.
  3. Use 1-2 tbsp of nut butter.

With any of these add-ins, you can boost the protein content between 10-20g!

#2. Thicker Version

As you can see based on the images, the smoothie is quite thin, it’s more like a juice consistency.

To thicken the smoothie, add 1/2 cup of frozen banana slices!

If you don’t mind bananas, they can help with the texture and sweeten the smoothie.

#3. Greens Loaded Variation

I tested adding 2 different types of greens and loved how much nutrients the leafy greens added to the smoothie.

If you want to boost the nutritional content of this orange and kiwi smoothie, add:

  1. A handful of spinach.
  2. A handful of Swiss chard.

You can only add 1 type of green, but to load it seriously, use at least 2 types of leafy greens!

Why I Used Whole Orange In The Recipe Instead Of Orange Juice

While I love making smoothies with orange juice, with this particular recipe I wanted to keep it as healthy as possible.

Orange juice simply lacks the nutrients a whole orange has, which is why it’s always best to use the whole orange (peeled of course).
