Indulge in a Kiwi Smoothie designed for weight loss. Refreshing and nutrient-packed, this smoothie is a tasty way to support your weight loss goals.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 medium-sized kiwi
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 large avocado (peeled)
  • 1 cup of almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 handful of kale (washed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the kiwi. Leave the skin on if you don’t mind it, I always leave it on because of the nutrients.
  2. Slice the kiwi, wash the kale, and measure the rest of your ingredients. Set them aside.
  3. Get your blender ready (I can see it in your sink, so wash it!)
  4. Add the frozen pineapple slices and kale first to your blender, followed by the rest of your prepared ingredients.
  5. Blend for 2-3 minutes, until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
  6. Taste for sweetness, thickness, etc. To make the smoothie thinner, add a bit more milk.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

The smoothie is best consumed as soon as it’s blended.

My Top Tips When Making This Kiwi Smoothie

Weight Loss Kiwi Smoothie

While the recipe for this no banana kiwi smoothie for weight loss is super straightforward, there are some tips I can offer you to ensure your smoothie comes out perfect!

#1. Leave The Skin On Of The Kiwi

The kiwi skin has so many nutrients. While not a lot of people enjoy the skin, remember, it will get blended!

A quick note on kiwi skin, if you intend to use kiwi skin, I suggest that you buy organic kiwi.

If not, peel the skin off. Just in case.

#2. Add The Frozen Fruit First

If using a blender, add the frozen fruit first. The closer it is to the blades, the better.

Frozen fruit is difficult to blend, which is why you want your blender to work the frozen fruit first.

#3. Blend At A Low Speed

Start the blending at a lower speed, so that the blender can crush the frozen fruit.

30 seconds is plenty. Then increase the speed.

#4. Avoid Blending For Too Long

The smoothie is thick, which reduces the chances of it coming out as foamy, but the longer you blend, the more air you put into it.

Stick to 2-3 minutes blending time for the best results.

Smoothie Variations

In order to fully be able to test the weight loss effects of this kiwi beverage, I had to drink it for 7 days straight.

During those 7 days, I tested out different variations of the recipe, to keep it interesting!

Some tasty variations you could try include:

  1. Add protein: To make the smoothie even more filling add a source of protein. 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt or a scoop of protein powder!
  2. Add caffeine: A great source of caffeine and additional antioxidants is matcha! On my second day, I added a 1/2 teaspoon of matcha, and I felt more energized.
  3. Swap some ingredients: You can swap the avocado for banana, and swap the pineapple for mango or berries. And finally, you can use spinach instead of kale.

How I Used The Smoothie To Lose Weight

While the smoothie is wonderful for weight loss, there is work you need to put in order to lose weight succesfully.

Here’s how I used this fat burning kiwi smoothie:

  1. Consumed it for 7 days straight.
  2. Consumed it for breakfast, as a meal replacement
  3. I ensured my other meals were healthy.
  4. I cut down on my daily calories by 10%.

I lost 0.7 pounds after 7 days. I think this is a good weight loss.

I didn’t feel hungry during the day.

The smoothie also helped me burn belly fat more than anything, which I found amazing.

I have always been struggling with belly fat.
