Weetabix Protein Shake

The original Weetabix contains quite a lot of protein, but the protein version contains even more.

I have been making a Weetabix smoothie for many years now, but this Weetabix protein shake is even better!

Why You Will Love This Weetabix Protein Shake:

Protein Weetabix Smoothie surrounded by weetabix bars and apples

This protein powder shake with Weetabix packs 40g of protein per serving, but that’s not the only reason why I think you will love it!

Here are the main reasons why I love it, and I know you will:

  1. High Protein Content: With both protein Weetabix and protein powder, this smoothie is a protein powerhouse, excellent for muscle repair and growth, especially beneficial after workouts.
  2. Energy Boosting: The combination of complex carbs and protein provides sustained energy, making it an ideal pre-workout drink or a post-exercise recovery shake.
  3. Nutrient-Rich: Alongside protein, this smoothie offers a range of nutrients from its ingredients, supporting overall health and wellness.
  4. Bone Health Support: Low-fat milk provides calcium and often vitamin D, essential for strong bones, which is important for fitness enthusiasts and athletes.
  5. Natural Sweetness: The natural sugars in apples and a touch of honey make it delightfully sweet without the need for artificial sweeteners.
  6. Convenient Meal Replacement: Quick and easy to prepare, it’s perfect for busy individuals looking for a nutritious, on-the-go breakfast or snack option.

This fruit protein shake also contains high amounts of fiber, beneficial for gut health and digestion.

Smoothie Variations And Recipe Notes

Protein Weetabix Smoothie being poured into a cup

There are numerous different ways you can customize this Weetabix protein drink.

Some of my personal favorites include:

  1. Berry-Packed: Swap the apple for 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries.
  2. No Protein Powder Smoothie: Instead of protein powder, you can use 1/2 cup of cottage cheese.
  3. Chocolate Flavored: Weetabix tastes so good with chocolate. Incorporate 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder for a chocolatey taste.
  4. Nutty Version: Add a tablespoon of nut butter or seeds, such as flaxseeds or chia seeds.
  5. Spicy Warmth: A 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, cinnamon, or both can make this smoothie taste warming and aromatic.
