This double berry blackberry smoothie contains 5 ingredients.

Each ingredient contributes to nutrients.

From being packed with vitamins, to boosting your energy, this smoothie has so many benefits to offer.

Here’s an overview of the benefits:

  1. High in Dietary Fiber: The blackberries, raspberries, and flaxseeds contribute to a high fiber content, promoting digestive health and aiding in maintaining a healthy gut.
  2. Rich in Antioxidants: Blackberries and raspberries are loaded with antioxidants like Vitamin C and manganese, which help combat oxidative stress and support immune function.
  3. Heart Healthy: The omega-3 fatty acids from flaxseeds and the healthy fats in almond butter are beneficial for heart health, helping to lower bad cholesterol levels.
  4. Supports Bone Health: Almond milk, often fortified with calcium and vitamin D, along with the magnesium in almond butter and flaxseeds, supports bone strength and density.
  5. Energy Boosting: The healthy fats in almond butter and the natural sugars in the fruits provide a sustained energy release, making this smoothie an excellent start to the day or a midday energy booster.
  6. Weight Management: The fiber and healthy fats can help you feel full longer, potentially aiding in weight management by reducing the likelihood of overeating.
  7. Skin Health: The Vitamin C from the berries aids in collagen production, which is vital for skin health and elasticity.

Recipe Notes & Smoothie Variations

There are numerous different ways to customize this blackberry raspberry smoothie.

I personally tested 4 different variations, which I think you will love!

  1. Protein Packed: Add a scoop of protein powder for an extra 20-25g of protein! (Note, use unsweetened and unflavored).
  2. Green Power: Incorporating a handful of leafy greens like spinach won’t impact the taste of the smoothie, but they will add lots of extra nutrients!
  3. Nut-Free Smoothie: For a nut-free smoothie, swap the almond butter for 1 tablespoon of oats, and the almond milk for oat or soy milk.
  4. Tropical Twist: Swap the almond milk for coconut milk, or add an extra 1/3 cup of mango or pineapple for a tropical flavor!

The smoothie won’t come out as thick as mine, but it will still taste good.
