What Are The Benefits Of Kefir In a Smoothie?

Kefir offers incredible benefits to your gut and has an incredible array of vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, kefir is high in protein, which helps make smoothies more filling.

Kefir also adds creaminess to your smoothies.

When choosing between kefir or yogurt, kefir is normally the superior option, due to the fact that kefir can offer a higher amount of gut-friendly bacteria and protein.

Is It Better To Drink Kefir In The Morning Or At Night?

The timing doesn’t really make any difference in when you decide to drink kefir.

However, kefir can energize you, which is why it’s best to consume it in the morning so it can energize you, ready for the day.

However, do note that it’s best to drink unsweetened kefir. Sweetened kefir can raise your blood sugar which will cause sugar crashes and energy.

Commercially sweetened kefirs unfortunately mostly contain added sugar, this is why it’s always best to choose unsweetened, natural kefirs.

When Should I Drink Kefir For Weight Loss?

If you are trying to lose weight, it’s best to drink kefir just before a meal.

Kefir will fill you up, which can reduce your appetite, and with that, this can help reduce your overall consumption of calories for the day, leading to a calorie deficit.

A glass of unsweetened kefir (6-7oz) 30 minutes before a meal should be sufficient.

When Is Best To Drink a Kefir Smoothie For Weight Loss?

A smoothie with kefir is slightly different than just drinking plain kefir.

A smoothie with kefir is best as a meal replacement for weight loss. Ideally, drink a weight loss smoothie with kefir for breakfast.

This will not only curb cravings and hunger for most of the day, but it will also provide your body with vital nutrients.
