Ingredients Used To Make The Best Pineapple Detox Drink For Weight Loss

The ingredient selection plays a very important role, not just for the benefits of this drink, but also for the taste.

Combining the right ingredients that work well together and in the right quantities is key to making the best refreshing beverage.

So, here is the ingredient breakdown of each ingredient I used, and why:

#1. Pineapple Chunks And Pineapple Juice

Pineapple Chunks And Pineapple Juice

The recipe contains double pineapple, so you can really get the most out of it.

Fresh pineapple contains the most benefits, so you want to use the pineapple in its flesh, but I also used pineapple juice, which helped the blending process, and of course the taste.

#2. Cucumber

Cucumber

Cucumber is 95%  – 96% water, making it incredibly hydrating. Consuming plenty of liquids is a great way to flush out toxins.

Sometimes people like eating their liquid, so watery vegetables and fruit can be an excellent source of hydration!

Cucumber also works really well with pineapple, so this combination is always a win!

#3. Ginger

Ginger

Ginger doubles down on the digestive health benefits together with the pineapple.

Furthermore, ginger is great for boosting your metabolism, which can aid weight loss.

Ginger also helps lower blood pressure and has so many other benefits. In terms of taste, ginger helps cut through the sweetness of the pineapple and provides gentle heat to the drink.

#4. Lemon Juice

Lemon

Lemon is high in Vitamin C and contains numerous other benefits too.

But the most important role of the lemon juice in this recipe is that it helps cut through the sweetness of the pineapple.

Balancing your drink right is so important, you don’t want it too sweet, so lemon really helps balance out this recipe, and also adds a layer of taste too.

#4. Ice

Ice

Ice just makes every drink a lot more delicious and refreshing. Also, ice helps boost the metabolism, because your body needs to use more energy to raise the temperature back up.

Ice, as we all know is very cold, so when you consume ice or cold beverages, your body needs to work overtime to heat itself.

Burning extra energy means potentially losing weight!

Making The Pineapple Detox Drink Recipe

Now I am going briefly to run you through the steps of making a detox drink with lemon ginger cucumber pineapple, but you can find the detailed recipe in the recipe card below along with a video!

Start off by preparing your ingredients:

  • Carefully measure the right amount of pineapple juice you will need based on the quantities listed in the recipe.
  • If you haven’t got pre-frozen pineapple, you will need to freeze some yourself. Get yourself a large pineapple, slice off the skin, and dice it.  Add the sliced chunks to a baking tray, and freeze for a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Peel off 1/3 inch ginger root, and mince or finely dice 1/3 tsp worth of ginger.
  • Slice a lemon in half, and juice only one of the halves. You can use a fruit squeezer to make it easier.
  • Slice the cucumber into rounds.

Once the ingredients have been prepared, add them to a high-speed blender, and blitz for 3-4 minutes.

Serve over ice and enjoy this delicious weight loss pineapple juice drink!

For a juice-only version of this recipe, once you have blended the ingredients, strain them and discard the pulp. But this is optional.
I recommend drinking this drink with the pulp because the pulp contains benefits, such as fiber.

Recipe Variations And Add-Ins

Do note that these add-ins or variations of this recipe are totally optional.

However, if you want to boost the nutritional value of this recipe, consider adding the following ingredients:

  • Add Chia Seeds (For increased fiber and protein content, and other nutrients).
  • Add Spinach Or Kale (For enhanced anti-inflammatory benefits and additional vitamins).
  • Adding Other Fruit Such As Berries (To reap up the nutrient density of this drink).
  • For a low sugar green tea detox drink with pineapple, use cooled brewed tea instead of pineapple juice as the base.

Storing The Pineapple And Ginger Detox Drink Correctly

Store this belly fat detox drink sealed in an airtight container or a bottle, in the fridge, and consume it within 3 days.
Do shake it though, before drinking!

After 3 days, the drink can still be consumed, but the taste might be impacted as well as the appearance.
