10 Flaxseed Smoothies (Best Recipes)

Flaxseeds are often sprinkled on salads, granola, and oatmeal bowls, but did you know you can also make amazing flaxseed smoothies?

A tablespoon of flaxseed meal added to your smoothies not only boosts the nutritional value, but also adds a nutty taste and thickness!

Flaxseed Smoothies

Benefits Of Flaxseed In Smoothies

Let’s take a look at all the benefits you can get by adding flaxseeds to your smoothies:

  • Boost Of Minerals (such as – Thiamine, Copper, Manganese, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Zinc, Iron, and Folate.)
  • Boosts Heart Health Thanks To Omega-3 Fatty Acids
  • Great Source Of Fiber For a Healthy Digestion
  • May Aid In Weight Loss
  • May Lower Cholesterol
  • Helps Reduce Blood Pressure
  • Prevents Constipation
  • May Reduce Inflammation
  • Promotes Satiety

These are the primary benefits, but it has so much more to offer too.

Flaxseeds are also easy to add to your smoothies. Flaxseeds are also probably one of the best seeds to add to smoothies too.

How Much Flax Seeds In Smoothie

How Much Flax Seeds In Smoothie

Now, the next question is, how much flaxseed should you add to smoothies?

The answer is 1-3 tablespoons. This is the sweet spot, if you add too many flaxseeds, this will impact the taste negatively.

1-3 tablespoons are the perfect amount if you want to get both the benefits and taste you want from your smoothies.

I typically tend to use 1-2 tablespoons of flaxseeds in my smoothies.

I rarely ever use 3 tablespoons, but when I have, I make sure to combine the flaxseeds with other strong-tasting ingredients so that flaxseeds don’t overpower everything.

Best Flaxseed For Smoothies

flaxseeds

Most flaxseeds work well in smoothies, but I have my favorite!

The best flaxseed for smoothies is ground or milled flaxseed.

If you use whole linseed, it will be difficult for your blender to crush it, so you may end up with bits in your smoothies.

Nobody likes bits in their smoothies.

I like to use 365 by Whole Foods Market Flaxseeds. They are ground and blend really well with your smoothie ingredients.

I have been using that brand for several years now.

But, of course, you can use any brand you like, just make sure it’s a flaxseed meal!
